What is the Future of Public Private Partnerships (PPP) for Infrastructure Delivery?


Guest speaker: Prof. Stephen Ogunlana

Professor and Chair of Construction Project Management, Heriot Watt University, UK.


On 17 April 2015, there are over 50 participants from many large construction and infrastructure companies of both goverment and private sectors participate the seminar " What is the future of PPP for Infrastructure delivery?", organized by Master of Project Management in Construction, Asian Institute of Technology.

With over 30 years of experience in construction management and consultant, an international reputation for research in construction projects and organizations, the author of over 180 scholarly publications in top-tier journals and refereed conferences, and co-editor of the book " Joint venture in construction (Thomas Telford) and "Public Private Partnerships in Infrastructure Development - Case studies from Asia and Europe", Prof. Ogunalana attracted participants with his deep knowledge and experience.  

He presented a brief history of PPPs as they have emerged from the 1980s and deliberated on our work as the international network on Public Private Partnerships for infrastructure sponsored by the European Union. The presentation focused on the Build Operate Transfer (BOT) model. He also elaborated on the current situation with PPPs in a few countries in the world to set a scene for discussion on the future of Public Private Partnerships for infrastructure delivery.

This is monthly academic activities of Project Management in Construction program (MPM) to share fruitful experience from international experts to Vietnam construction industry.
